Sherry is a school psychologist and licensed as a specialist in school psychology in Texas. She has worked in PK-12 schools, supporting the mental health of children and adolescents for over 25 years.

SherryElaine.com is focused on educating, consulting and advising tweens, teens and their parents towards positive mental health. This includes instruction and encouragement in practices leading to transformative outcomes in establishing a strong sense of self, identifying clear life-guiding values, developing better confidence, maintaining a positive outlook, finding authentic friendships, and building healthy relationships.

Sherry keeps her certifications up to date, and engages in many hours of continuing education and latest research reviews to continually update her skills and knowledge. She incorporates evidence based strategies in the fields of positive psychology, Christian counseling, biological bases of emotions and behavior, child and adolescent development, family systems studies, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior strategies, functional behavioral analysis, and acceptance and commitment strategies in her courses and consultations.

Additionally, Sherry ministers to women and girls to encourage these practices: seeking and staying close to God, sharing the teachings and message of Jesus, and

participating in spiritual formation practices in ways that are simple, effective, and fun!

Sherry earned a Bachelors in Psychology from Baylor University. She has an advanced master's in School Psychology from UHC (four years of master's level education in psychology - including an extra year of formal education in family systems therapy - plus a full year long internship in the area of child and adolescent development, mental health, and learning. She has also completed a master's level certificate in Biblical Languages and Biblical Backgrounds through New Orleans Seminary (NOBTS).
